BVC is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 7-8pm at 89 Kitchener Street, Garran. Please talk to your Unit’s BVC Representative for more information.
Waterwatch
Saturday November 19th, 2022. This will be the next run of the Venturers WaterWatch activity. The activity is open to Scouts who are linking up to Venturers, Venturers, Rovers and adults in scouting. The activity is a combination of 4WD & bushwalking in the southern parts of Namadgi National Park, doing environmental monitoring. Keep an eye out for the Expression of Interest email in early November.
Coast Venture
Coast Venturer is an opportunity for venturers to celebrate the end of the year by spending a weekend down the coast at lake tabourie. This is a chance for groups all around the ACT to come together with the sunscreen movie premieres as well as fun activities around the campsite. This will be held on the first weekend of December 2nd - 4th.
Special Children's Christmas Party
Saturday December 3rd to Sunday December 4th, Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party. We have been approached to assist with the Canberra Special Children’s Christmas Party again. The party is for children with physical and learning disabilities, and those from socio-economically disadvantaged families. It provides a day of fun, entertainment, music, food, presents and Christmas cheer to those who may well not otherwise get to enjoy the Christmas season. Usually the party caters for up to 3500 guests and their family/carers. An email with more information to come.
Drone Workshop
SciScouts will be partnering with the Australian UAV Service to deliver the Lifesaver Drone Outreach Program at Camp Cottermouth. Sunday 6 November 8.30-11:15am there is availability for 30 Scouts/Venturers. Scouts will investigate drone technology, drone flight, and geospatial technology as used in modern life. They will look at the safety aspects and the moral responsibilities of being a drone pilot. They will explore regulations relevant to flying drones. Scouts will become a UAV PILOT for a day. They’ll be exposed to some great role models, learn how to fly a drone, and have fun as they are taught STEM by stealth. Cost $10. Bookings www.trybooking.com/CCRGL.
